The Mountain State Art and Craft Fair (MSACF) is pleased to announce the first act in its 2026 entertainment lineup: nationally acclaimed flatpicking duo Robin & Dan Kessinger.

Widely recognized as one of the country’s premier flatpick guitarists, Robin Kessinger is a National Flatpicking Champion, having earned top honors in Winfield, Kansas. In addition, he has captured multiple state championships in Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia, and West Virginia, along with numerous regional titles.

His distinctive style—described by Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine as echoing “the ghosts of generations past”—has been featured on PBS, BBC, and NPR. Robin continues to headline major festivals across the country and serves as a judge and mentor for emerging musicians.

Joining him is Dan Kessinger, a West Virginia state champion and accomplished multi-instrumentalist. Known for his versatility on both fiddle and guitar, Dan seamlessly blends bluegrass with country, blues, jazz, and swing. A consistent top finisher at the National Flatpicking Championships, he is widely regarded as a leading figure in West Virginia’s rich musical tradition.

“The Kessingers embody the heritage and artistry that define the Mountain State Art and Craft Fair,” said organizers. “Their performance is a perfect way to begin unveiling what promises to be an outstanding 2026 entertainment lineup.”

The Mountain State Art and Craft Fair, a juried event celebrating Appalachian heritage, will take place July 2–4, 2026, at Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, West Virginia. The fair features high-quality handmade crafts, live demonstrations, and entertainment that reflects the region’s deep cultural roots.

Additional entertainment announcements will be released in the coming weeks.
