Over 40 years ago, the Mountain State Art and Craft Fair Hall of Fame was created to honor the extraordinary individuals and businesses whose unwavering support and contributions have left a lasting legacy. These honorees have gone above and beyond to preserve and promote West Virginia’s folk traditions, ensuring they remain vibrant and meaningful for generations to come.
From founding members and devoted volunteers to community leaders and generous sponsors, the Hall of Fame is a living tribute to those who understand the importance of celebrating and sustaining the artistry, culture, and community spirit that define the Fair.
The MSACF Board of Directors is proud to announce the 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees and congratulates each of them for their unique contributions and enduring commitment to the Mountain State Art & Craft Fair:
Mondel Harvey “Red Dog” was known for his creativity and passion in cooking with traditional West Virginia ingredients—wild meats, herbs, and native produce. His love for historical reenactments and sharing knowledge of Appalachian history made him a beloved presence at the Fair.
Brayden Taylor grew up at the Fair alongside his mother, Millie Taylor, who served as Fair Secretary. He quickly became friends to many, introducing exhibitors’ children to the joy of fishing and engaging with artists to learn more about their crafts.
Chantil McCormick has delighted audiences at the Fair since childhood with her lively performances of traditional Scottish dance. Her joyful energy and dedication to cultural expression have become a highlight of the event.
John Blisard served for many years on the MSACF Board of Directors, playing key roles as a consultant and entertainment coordinator. A gifted musician himself, John was instrumental in shaping the Fair’s programming and visitor experience.
Kimberly Johnson, a celebrated musician and banjo player, has traveled across West Virginia sharing her musical talents. A longtime Fair performer, she stepped up during the COVID-19 pandemic to create a promotional video that helped keep the spirit of the Fair alive.
Ray Swisher has been part of the Fair’s setup and maintenance team for over 35 years. Known as the “go-to guy,” Ray is beloved by exhibitors and organizers alike for his reliability, problem-solving, and steadfast support of the MSACF mission.
Jason Lynch, an artisan since 1996, is widely admired for sharing his animal-sculpting talents with Fair visitors of all ages. Recognized with the Small Business of the Year Award and Tamarack’s Best of WV, Jason founded Lynch Hospitality Group, LLC in 2021 to support the revitalization of Friendly, WV. In 2023, he expanded into mobile food service with a truck specializing in grilled cheese and Appalachian cuisine, which now serves guests at the Fair.
Each of these inductees has left a unique and lasting mark on the Mountain State Art & Craft Fair, and we are honored to recognize their contributions in 2025. To see our full list of Hall of Fame Honorees, Please Click Here
