For more than six decades, the Mountain State Art & Craft Fair (MSACF)Â has been a celebrated showcase of Appalachian craftsmanship, tradition, and creativity. Each July, thousands of visitors travel to Cedar Lakes to discover one-of-a-kind works, meet the makers behind them, and experience the artistry that defines our region.
Now, as we prepare for the 2026 Fair, we’re extending an enthusiastic invitation to first-time artisans to join us and become part of this remarkable legacy.
✨ Why First-Time Artisans Belong at MSACF
We know that taking the leap into your first large-scale show can feel exciting—and a little intimidating. That’s exactly why the MSACF was designed not only as a marketplace, but as a supportive environment where artisans can grow, connect, and shine.
Here’s what makes it special:
A Fair Built for Craftsmanship
We welcome artisans who create handmade, handcrafted, and authentically designed
work. If your craft is rooted in skill, originality, and passion, you’ll find a perfect fit here.
A Supportive, Educational Atmosphere

Our fair emphasizes learning through demonstrations, storytelling, and the showcasing of traditional and contemporary craft techniques. First-time exhibitors find this environment welcoming, encouraging, and inspiring.
Two Ways to Jury—Designed with You in Mind
For 2026, we’re making entry easier than ever with two ways to complete the jury process, allowing you to choose the option that works best for your schedule and comfort level. Both paths lead to the same opportunity: a chance to be part of one of West Virginia’s most cherished events.
A Chance to Grow Your Customer Base
Visitors don’t just browse—they buy. Exhibitors often share that MSACF is one of their strongest shows of the year, especially for artisans who demonstrate their craft and share their story.
🎨 What We’re Looking For
The MSACF accepts fine arts and handmade crafts that are:
Created or significantly embellished by the artist
Designed and executed by the artisan attending the fair
Original, not made from commercial kits
Respectful of copyright/trademark guidelines
Rooted in skill, creativity, and craftsmanship
Whether you’re a woodworker, potter, fiber artist, jeweler, painter, metalsmith, baker, or maker of traditional Appalachian crafts—there is a place for your work at the Fair.
🧵 New to Jurying? Don’t Worry.
Every artisan starts somewhere.
Many of our seasoned exhibitors began just like you—nervous, hopeful, and unsure where their craft would take them. Today, they’ll tell you the MSACF helped launch their confidence, build their following, and strengthen their identity as artists.
Our jury process is approachable, fair, and designed to help emerging artisans grow.
