RIPLEY, W.Va. (WV News) — The Mountain State Art & Craft Fair (MSACF)  is offering scholarships to qualified individuals who want to advance their knowledge in the visual arts or traditional/heritage music or dance. Applicants must be a West Virginia resident who is at least 18 years old.


The application process is open-ended and allows applicants to specify how much money they need and how they intend to spend it. Two letters of recommendation and verification of the training program they wish to participate in are required.

Known as an Appalachian tradition and “grandaddy” of West Virginia heritage events, the Mountain State Art and Craft Fair is returning for their 62nd year in 2024. It features juried artisans and vendors, musicians, and historical displays. This year, MSACF planners  have seen a significant increase in interest from both vendors and attendees throughout Appalachia and beyond.  


The new MSACF marketing campaign, Come back. Come home. Come visit. was specifically designed to appeal to those who have attended in the past as well as invite new guests. New vendor registration has increased by more than 25 percent and interest from people throughout the country has spiked as the event is an excellent vacation destination for families and individuals who appreciate the arts and family fun.


This year the MSACF will return again to the Cedar Lakes Conference Center near Ripley July 4 - 7, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily. Gate admission is $7; for seniors 55 and older and children 3–11 is $5; children under three are free. Ample parking is easily accessible and available at no additional cost.
